Anthony & Executive Director of NKF South Neko Northington at the 2024 annual kidney walk at Atlantic station
In 2024, Anthony E. Tuggle and Dr. Sharon Mattox Nephrologist proudly served as co chairs of the National Kidney Foundation Walk. Together, they helped lead one of the foundationās most impactful events, raising awareness, building momentum, and inspiring others to stand with the kidney community.

Over $500,000 Raised For Awareness, Prevention & Research
Anthony E. Tuggle has been a dedicated force in the National Kidney Foundation Annual Walk for years. He has helped raise over $500,000 and personally contributed an additional $250,000 to support kidney health, research, and education.

The fight against kidney disease is urgent and often overlooked. These facts from the National Kidney Foundation highlight why awareness, education, and funding are critical:
1 in 3 adults in the United States is at risk for kidney disease
Over 35 million adults live with chronic kidney disease, and most do not know it
Kidney disease causes more deaths each year than breast or prostate cancer
More than 800,000 people in the United States are living with end stage kidney disease
Black Americans are over four times more likely to develop kidney failure
Hispanic, Native American, and Asian communities are also disproportionately affected
